Alveolus production:
• Be careful handling the moulds. There is a big scratch in the outer old mould. This was made with another metal part
• Be very careful when handling the mandrels, one of the cables is already broken. Check them properly when rotating for cleaning and coating. You can do one direction, then the other (for different coatings). Keep always an eye on the cables when manipulating them.
• If cloths get too dirty don’t hesitate in using new ones
• When creating chips of resin (because of removal of the mandrels) keep the table clean. I saw some alveoli scratched. They will be rejected.
• The mandrels can't be mixed: new ones / old ones.
• Check that the controlling temperature sensor is working (well plugged on both sides). Right after the final retightening, 5 minutes later and 15 minutes later: http://mould-control.emp.him.uni-mainz.de/slowcontrol/history.php?ShowValue0=301&ShowValue1=301
• For the unmoulding:
- Break the excess of resin on both ends
- Clean very well any rest of resin on the end of the mandrel (opposite to the cables end)
- Push the mandrels out
- If they get stuck use the plastic hammer
- Then you can use the second hammer to go further
- If needed use the aluminium rods. Always protect the tip. Never hammer metal against metal.
- Never push a Mandrel on the top position without a mandrel below
- Use a Styrofoam piece to hold the alveolus in place when hammering
- Always use cotton gloves and safety goggles
